Floriade Pavillion, Haarlemmermeer, The Netherlands

The pavilion is a small reflection of the start of the new age of water. It is a floating terrace, glasshouse and exhibitionspace all in one. The pavillion is built out of 4 linked concrete floating bases, on which a steel frame is fixed. In the water inside the building models of waterhouses are fixed to a pier. On an assembly-line the visitor sees the production of waterhouses pass before his eyes in a three-hunder metre long factory building. On the roof the gutter is fulled with standing and hanging plants that grow between the transparant facade and the visitors. The inflatable facade will change colour during the Floriade and so come into bloom like a field of tulips.
