Floating quarter Utrecht, the Netherlands

Waterstudio made the urban plan and concept design of the watervillas for the floating quarter in the neighborhood of Terwijde in Utrecht. On the basis of the concept design Aquatecture made the final designs for the villas. The plan consists of 19 villas that are situated along the quay. The houses have their sleeping area partly underneath the water, while the living area is situated above the water and offers wide views because of the use of large glass facades.
